Faculty Coordinator at the Faculty of Humanities and Theology

Workplace Description

The office of the Faculty of Humanities and Theology is a developing and versatile workplace with various professional competencies that support the operations in several areas.

There are about 30 employees working with finance, communication, HR issues, quality and development issues, international exchange, and support to the faculty board and its decision-making and preparatory bodies, mainly the working committee and the operational committees responsible for undergraduate education, doctoral education, and research. At the office, we continuously work to create conditions for job satisfaction, development, and participation for all employees.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility

The work involves handling various types of cases related to doctoral education and doctoral students together with the faculty secretary for doctoral education. The faculty coordinator has close contact with the faculty's doctoral students and also works together with the pro-dean and education leaders. The position includes periods of high workload.

The work as a faculty coordinator includes, among other things:

  • participating in the work of admitting individuals to doctoral education
  • handling defenses
  • performing course administration
  • informing various groups about doctoral education
  • managing various administrative tasks related to doctoral education, doctoral students' employment, and certain arrangements for doctoral students

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • higher education at least at the bachelor's level
  • experience of qualified administrative work
  • experience in the university and higher education sector
  • experience in providing operational support and service
  • very good ability to communicate in both Swedish and English

Meritorious for the position are:

  • good knowledge of Lund University
  • experience with administrative systems such as Ladok and Varbi or equivalent

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You should have good collaboration skills, be clear in your communication, and have an unpretentious approach and the ability to create trusting relationships with colleagues at various levels. Furthermore, you should be meticulous and structured.

Other

The position is a fixed-term employment of 50% with a start date of March 16, 2026 (or by agreement) until December 31, 2026.

The Faculty of Humanities and Theology has eight departments and conducts a large and varied operation in research and education. We have about 700 employees and about 4,000 full-year students.

About the Office for Humanities and Theology

The office provides service to the joint management bodies of the HT faculties and the university's central management. An important task is to support and coordinate the faculties' departments in the decentralized administrative structure at Lund University. The office also serves as a knowledge bank and an advisory consulting body regarding relevant laws, regulations, and systems of rules.
